Rudy in the NFL

Star-divide

Ok, so a week and a half before the opening kickoff may be early to start talking about Carp playing in the big leagues, but there seems to be a large majority that considers Rudy a sub-par prospect.

Here's an article on ten senior quarterbacks expected to be drafted,

Rudy's Number Seven.

The thing that caught my eye was the first comment, which was particulary harsh, at least in my opinion.

uh, this guy is a liability. total hothead, probably wont make it through the season unijured. In a regular year for QB strength this clown wouldn`t be in the top 25. Has never won a big game. ever

Any opinions?

Wow, I would like to see who this guy would put in his top 25.

Rudy handles pressure so well, and takes such a beating, he is one of the most durable players in college football. The guy was sacked 55 times last year! And he still managed 25 TDs to only 10 INTs. This guy obviously has no idea how hard it is to make your reads when you have guys flying around by your knees.

Lets not forget when Rudy had a great line, and a lot of senior talent at his skill positions, he led the country in passer efficiency.

Fuck that commenter.

Amen.

I mean, come on.

Played through a broken finger while getting sacked 55 times?!?

Just awesome.

It would be very interesting to see what he could have done with a great O-line through his past three years.

Rudy Hate

It’s particularly troubling when you consider that a lot of the Rudy hate emenates straight from Sun Devil nation. Why is that? Apparently he hasn’t done enough for the program yet?

because...

the kid is great qb… no doubt and tough as nails.

unfortunately (in the past anyhow) he has a knack for doing and saying dumb shit. erickson should institute a pushup rule for taking off your helmet while on the field. rudy would have a massive chest in no time.

i found it a tad embarrassing for the team to have to listen to the ENTIRE texas sideline chanting rudy. i doubt they just did that on a whim.

and then the basketball game incident this past season showed many fans (who witnessed the whoel thing) that rudy has much growing up to do.

that said, thus far i would say he seems to have matured somewhat with his on-field demeanor and his post game comments giving the o-line and the wrs all the praise for the stanford game even though he was picking himself up off the turf every other play. if that continues im sure he will make amends for some of his past buffonery.

He has looked awfully poised and composed so far this season. He has not faced much adversity yet...

but he has bulked up, he is a senior, and he is the unquestioned leader of this team.
