From my view in the press box on this fine Arizona Saturday in October, I see a very thin crowd. The student section is half full with 17 minutes before kickoff, and the upper bowl has at most a thousand people.
I honestly hope that the crowd improves, but I would not be surprised to see the fan base using their lack of attendance as a way to show their disapproval of Dennis Erickson's current coaching practices.
We are playing the #24 California Golden Bears (5-2, 2-2 Pac-10), whose only losses have come against two Top 10 teams (#5 USC and #10 Oregon). To beat Jahvid Best and the Bears, we will need to play competitive football, something we have rarely done these past 5 weeks.
