New Blog: Along The Olentangy for Ohio State Fans!

If you'll indulge me, for a bit, ASU fans --

I know the vast majority of posters here who follow NCAA sports are Sun Devils fans, (for obvious reasons) but still. AZ Desert Swarm was initially founded in January as a SBN site focusing on the college athletics of the UofA Wildcats. The site's pretty sterile right now, as there are only about two or three semi-regular posters (including myself) at the moment. But I know there are also UofA fans lurking who haven't posted at the site yet. If you're out there, do us a favor and add AZ Desert Swarm to your SBN blog circuit.

And..... here come the flames, I'm sure.

Ah, come on :)

You know it’s all good natured.. What is as fun as sports to get into spirited debates about?

Dunno

how many that is compared to other sites, though — don’t have a baseline. For a site like Athletics Nation, or McCovey Chronicles, or Bleed Cubbie Blue, that number is probably in the tens if not hundreds of thousands.

I’m not sure how many unique daily visitors we get at the Snakepit, for example, but I should think that it’s at least in the low thousands.

Wasn’t aware of that, thx. Looks like we’re lower than I thought. (Offseason?)

Most likely, you will get some big hits when a signing or an injury occurs, that’s usually how it works. But in a short time, all of our sites will be the premiere blogs for our teams on the web.

But in a short time, all of our sites will be the premiere blogs for our teams on the web.

Why do you say that? Because SBN has the potential to become a one-stop-shop for sports blogs?

Problem is,

I can’t see SBN blogs replacing significant and already-established sports blogs like Dodger Thoughts or Ducksnorts.

I think it totally depends on your team

I’m a big Texas Rangers fan, and there is a massive online following thanks to some established sites out there including Lonestarball.com

I’m also a big Dallas Mavericks fan, but the SBN site for the Mavs isn’t highly read — there’s dallasbasketball.com that is bigger and more legit.

But, for ASU — there isn’t one “true” site that is extremely popular, so I think this has a chance. Need to advertise on campus some I think — or facebook — that seems to be the way to go these days.

Definitely in agreement here.

That’s really what I meant when referencing Dodger Thoughts and Ducksnorts — but it isn’t consistent, though. While those are considered the premier Dodgers and Padres blogs, the SBN Dodgers blog (True Blue LA) remains a graveyard, while the Padres blog (Gaslamp Ball) is immensely popular. There are also different types of fans attracted to different blogs — Bleed Cubbie Blue tends to attract more mature posters, while Gaslamp Ball attracts the MySpace crowd.

I certainly wish you folks the best of luck — hopefully you do become the foremost ASU site. (Well — I wish you as much luck as I can, anyway, being Scum Devils fans)
