Connecticut Trumps ASU In Elite Eight Showdown

Connecticut 83, ASU 64.

Despite a strong game from Danielle Orsillo, the undefeated UConn Huskies took care of business on Tuesday afternoon in Trenton, beating the 6th seeded Sun Devils. Orsillo finished with 18 points on 7/14 shooting.

It is just impossible to stop Maya Moore, a 6' forward that turns in dominating perfromances as often as Guy Fieri makes me sick (and that was multiple times a day during the March Madness deluge of restaurant commercials for TGI Fridays).

Moore scored 25 points and overpowered the Devils, who got to the Elite Eight against all odds. With guard Dymond Simon out for the season, it seemed like the party would end early in 2009. Charli Turner Thorne led the team back from the brink and put together a run in the tournament to remember.

This is just a stepping stone to a 2009/2010 statement season. Congratulations on a great tournament run, ladies.
