*Breaking News* Jack Elway Quits Team
In a story I did not see coming... Jack Elway has quit the Arizona State Sun Devil football team, but will remain as a student. Elway is tired of football and wants to do something else with his life. The battle remains for starting QB between Sullivan, Szakasasy, Osweiler, and Stangel. It should be an interesting rest of the spring with the battle for the starting QB position.

Eh
the video I saw on him wasn’t all that great. No big loss….wish him well with the rest of his life though for sure.

Jeez. Unexpected. I wonder what his dad thinks about this, I mean he flew out to watch him compete in spring drills.
Either way… makes it more likely those prospects we brought in will sign. I guess.
GL in school, Jack.

Pretty surprising, but I imagine all the pressure was immense. I also imagine his father was living vicariously through him, but don’t all fathers do that? Good luck Jack.

Really?
His dad is John Elway. John Elway. Really doesn’t have any need to live vicariously through his kid, as he accomplished plenty his own self. From all accounts, Jack has been pretty secure in going in own way — not particularly interested in Stanford or staying home in Colorado for college, getting a different number than his dad. Maybe just saw the writing on the wall with the QB depth chart and figured that being a regular college kid in beautiful Tempe wasn’t a bad gig. Best of luck to him with his future.

Totally predictable ...
If you’ve been following any of my posts over the last year on any number of sites I have said that elway will never throw a pass for ASU. I believe the same is true of Stangel.
I can’t recall a time when ASU was weaker at the QB position.
