ASU Baseball Clinches Pac-10 Conference Championship With Series Sweep of Oregon
In an impressive showcase, the Sun Devils put on their hard hats and went to work against the fledgling Duck squad that had flown south from Oregon for the weekend.
In total, ASU scored 27 runs in 3 games, in stark comparison to Oregon's 2 runs, both of which were scored in Saturday's contest.
Mike Leake threw a complete game shutout on Friday night, and Seth Blair pitched 7.2 great innings today to give the team the much desired sweep.
With the win today, ASU won its 3rd consecutive Pac-10 Championship. Congratulations!
On the softball side of the equation, freshman Hillary Bach overcame all the odds today to pitch 2 complete game shutouts, beating LSU twice. Bach was named tournament MVP with her heroic performances.
With those clutch wins, ASU softball advances to the Tempe Super Regional, where it will play North Dakota State. The games will be on ESPN.
What a weekend for ASU sports! Keep it up.

Good job Devils!
Let’s hope that North Dakota State 2009 isn’t Fresno State 2008. Would be great to see the girls get to the WCWS for the 4th year in a row. And looking forward to seeing the Devils complete the season sweep of the rats on Wednesday down in tuscum!
