Vontaze Burfict Will Be Eligible For The Sun Devils, Says Dennis Erickson
Looks like our star recruit, 6'3", 245 lb linebacker Vontaze Burfict will be eligible for the season, according to ASU head coach Dennis Erickson.
Per Jeff Metcalfe:
"He'll be here for the first game," Erickson said. "He's done everything he needs to do."
Burfict is a freak who will terrorize the Pac-10 as long as he is here, which hopefully will be 4 long, successful seasons.
I've been hoping for this day for a long time, and while he has not been officially cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse, this is a big step in that direction. Erickson wouldn't come out and say this if he didn't have a slight inkling on the issue.
Anyway, does anyone else think this defense is going to be ferocious? Will we be able to make up for a potentially anemic offense in 2009?
Check back later for a preview of Louisiana-Monroe.

That's good news
But I won’t hold my breath. The NCAA has been known to F with everyone’s heads on stuff like this.

Cautiously Optimistic
While I agree that this is good news, I won’t be comfortable until we get the final word from the NCAA. I think we’ve got a chance to have a really good defense without him, but with him I think it could be a great defense…especially a year from now.
So football season is right around the corner
updates from practice are available…no entries?
