Derek Glasser Goes Pro... In Israel
So, I missed this the other day. I was celebrating our nation's birth in Las Vegas.
Nice work, Glassman.

Good for Glasser
Seems like the kind of guy who would really embrace the opportunity and appreciate playing overseas.
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True story.

And seriously
Glasser’s deal approaches six figures. The team also will pay for a two-bedroom house, a car, utilities – mostly everything but food and Glasser’s cellphone bill.
How sweet a post college gig is that? Sure it isn’t lottery draft pick type stuff, but that wasn’t going to be Glasser’s pro basketball outcome anyway. Genuinely happy for the kid.

"approaches six figures"
I mean, I’d take it.
But, that seems pretty cheap for any kind of pro contract to me. I would’ve guessed at least 100k.
Still, good for him.

Not all players are Jennings or Childress
The pay scale ranges from 6k-1m+, so almost 6 figures isn’t bad. Also, D-League players who are not signed with an NBA team make in the vicinity of $24k and get to visit such cultured locales as South Dakota and Tulsa.

Well I know the D league players don't make anything
but usually those overseas teams pay alot better.
Either way, good for him.

He's not a big enough name to pull big bucks...
But he should be an effective point guard over there (ok, I know nothing about basketball in Israel). Best of luck to the Glassman.
