Do you know who the real genius is in hiring Graham?

PrintMichael Crow is the genius in all of this. If Graham tanks (and I'm inclined to think he'll go 4 years and out), Crow can fire Love and blame her for this horrible hire. If Graham gets the job done, Crow will say, in some subtle ways, that he was the force behind hiring Graham. However, I think Love gets canned and we endure a couple of 5-7 seasons along with a couple of 7-5 seasons.

I don't think that is Crow's game
Why intentionally force your team to tank? Graham could deliver some good results, he has in several places in the past. Crow has no debt to Love, to sacrifice all the glory that having a good football team offers would be foolish.

It's not about intentionally tanking the program ...
It’s no secret that essentially, the Graham hire was Crow’s doing. Say what you will about Love or that other guy they hired to run interference, this was his hire. Crow is not a football guy nor is there anything in his background to suggest he knows anything about the sport. From all I’ve heard and seen from Crow, he’s an egomaniac and being the big gun in the hiring of a new coach does nothing more than stroke his ego.
Sadly, one of the 3 largest universities in the nation did nothing more than make a commitment to keeping the status quo with the Graham hiring. Do I hold out hope that I will eat my words? I do and I will be more than happy to eat my words if Graham is successful. I just keep thinking that right now, we’re more like the San Diego Chargers of college football in that we’re making a commitment to mediocrity with this hire despite having plenty of talent …….
