Arizona State Softball College World Series Championship Open Thread
With the Sun Devils taking on the Florida Gators in the Women's College World Series Final, the time feels right to have an open thread regarding the three-game series.
ASU is already beating Florida 7-0 after two innings. Kaylyn Castillo has two RBI and Dallas Escobedo has held the Gators scoreless through two innings, giving up only one hit so far.
Krista Donnenwirth broke it wide open in the bottom of the second, stroking a three-run home run to left field
Gators pitcher Hannah Rogers has had a hard time controlling her pitches, and has already given up seven runs to show for it.
Lets cheer for our Devils as they progress towards their second NCAA title. Go Devils! Fear the fork!

Gators threatening
Two men on first and third with only one out… Good thing ASU is up 7 runs but this is far from over.

Phew
Escobedo works her way out of the jam without giving up any runs. On the way to the bottom of the 3rd… 7-0 DEVS

I hate the Gators as much as the next guy, but I'm pretty sure they're women! :)
Pitched out of the jam. Go Sun Devils!
Sincerely, I hope y’all run-rule these people.
Go 'Dawgs!
Theoretically :)
We’ll do our best!

Oops! I just heard them say the run rule isn't in effect.
In that case, I hope y’all run it up on these people.
Pour it on, Sun Devils, pour it on!
Go 'Dawgs!
That's what I like to hear
We’re going to demoralize them Gators. 10-0 now

an honest mistake from a UGA fan obviously not familiar with championship level rules
which makes sense, of course.
Just joking Kyle – but you completely deserved that one!
Damn... 9-0
The Devils are possessed out there.

Man, I hope so.
First of all, when an SEC team finally wins a WCWS, I want it to be Georgia, obviously.
Beyond that, though, it would be appropriate if the Gators—-whose across-the-board run to the top began with the hiring of a Florida alumnus who then was coaching the Duke Blue Devils—-saw it all end at the hands of the Arizona State Sun Devils . . . particularly since it’s obvious that the only rational explanation for the last 20 years of Gator athletics is that Jeremy Foley made a deal with Satan.
Go 'Dawgs!
I object
to a game thread started when the game is already 7-0!
That said, I am hoping that this 7th inning brings us some confidence for game 2. I’m not sure I would have left Escobedo in this long…..we’re getting a lot of looks at her stuff.
BTW
Stellar game tonight – your 3rd basewoman was out of control with her glove and bat. That Wille Mays style catch was just not right, and the snow cone stab double play was ridiculous too.
I hope we can give you a better game tomorrow.
I'm hoping for the same
I look forward to tomorrow. I should have had the game thread up sooner! you definitely caught me there.
