The preseason polls are beginning to trickle in, and the Sporting News has given the Sun Devils a good review, marking us as the 23rd overall team in college football in 2011.

23. Arizona State

WR Aaron Pflugrad: "We definitely have enough talent. But we had the talent last year and didn't finish games. What I've been seeing as far as us coming together as a group, we're definitely a top 25 team."

ASU is ranked ahead of notable 2011 opponents USC (25), Missouri (26) and Illinois (59). Three other Pac-12 programs are higher ranked -- Stanford (4), Oregon (5), and Utah (21).

While Oregon and Stanford are elite programs, the inclusion of Utah at such a high level is a surprise. While they have had a lot of historical success, a full season in the Pac-12 will show a lot about the Utes.

We'll keep you posted on the preseason rankings as they come in.
