After ten seasons as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, Todd Heap is coming home to Arizona.

The Cardinals announced today that they have signed Heap to a two-year deal, the terms of which were not disclosed.

Sun Devils fans will always have a soft spot for Heap, a Mesa native who shattered records while playing for ASU. In just three seasons in maroon and gold, Heap caught 115 passes, gained 1685 yards, and recorded ten touchdowns.

These numbers are even more impressive when you consider he only played sparingly in 1998, catching 12 passes total. As a sophomore and junior, he made 103 catches for 1,476 yards. His productivity was off the charts.

Heap went down as one of the best tight ends to ever play football in the Pac-10 conference. His illustrious career in Baltimore is yet another testament to his abilities. While we're not all Cardinals fans, we can appreciate this move for what it is -- a smart addition for a local team by deciding to sign a hometown legend.

Good luck playing for the Cards, Todd!
