ASU's dynamic defensive tackle got some nice national recognition on Wednesday
The first half of the 2012 season has included a great many things for Arizona State junior defensive tackle Will Sutton.
Lots of sacks. Lots of tackles-for-loss. Lots of battered and bruised quarterbacks in his wake. And now, even more national recognition.
After getting just a third-team All-American spot from Phil Steele, Sports Illustrated got it right by naming Sutton as their choice for All-American first team defensive tackle.
Said Sports Illustrated quite simply:
With 8.5 sacks and 13 TFLs, Sutton has been the nation's most disruptive interior lineman.
Yep, that about sums it up perfectly.
If Sutton can keep up his dominance over a back half of the schedule that includes Oregon, USC, and Oregon State, who knows...maybe he'll start getting some Heisman consideration.
