Former Arizona State legend and pro football Hall of Famer Mike Haynes will be named Associate Athletic Director in the wake of Lisa Love's departure, a source familiar with the negotiations informed us on Sunday morning.
ASU football head coach Todd Graham has pushed hard for Haynes, an extremely notable alumni, to be brought into the fold and help improve the relationship between the school and its former athletes. At this time, it is difficult to say what role Haynes will play, but we believe he will be used in fundraising, community outreach, and bring the Sun Devils back to national prominence.
Haynes is one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history, making nine Pro Bowl appearances over an illustrious career that saw him play as a member of the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Raiders. Haynes intercepted 46 passes over his career and saw his jersey (#40) retired by the Pats after it was said and done.
