Despite falling short to Cal in their bid to win the Pac-12 title, the defending national champion Arizona State softball team will still be in a strong position to repeat.
The 64-team bracket and schedule for the 2012 NCAA Softball Tournament was released Sunday evening, and on the strength of their 46-7 record, the Sun Devils were given the No. 3 seed, meaning they will be hosting a regional at Farrington Stadium, where the ladies where a sterling 37-2 this year.
They will face off against LIU Brooklyn, who got into the tournament despite a 25-33 mark on the season. First pitch for the Devils will take place at 6:30pm on Friday. The other match-up in this regional will see Long Beach State (28-33) take on Syracuse (40-14)
