Well, it's here.
Playoffs, meet major college football. Major college football, meet playoffs.
On Tuesday, BCS commissioners and school presidents made the long anticipated announcement that the FBS (formerly Division I-A) will be moving to a four-team seeded playoff format, beginning in 2014. The current agreement will run for 12 years and could result in a $6-billion television deal. Yep, with a "b".
There are many, many details remaining to work out, but it is agreed upon that the semifinals will rotate between six existing bowls.
So now, let's talk Arizona State.
By 2014, the hope is that Todd Graham will have the Sun Devil ship righted and on the long sought after course. So the timing is good in that respect. But now we ask you, ASU fan: Will ASU ever make the playoffs?
