When the Boston Red Sox drafted Arizona State linebacker/outfielder Brandon Magee on June 6th, there was some speculation that the talented two-sport star may ultimately end up on the diamond.

That angle solidified earlier today, when Will Boor of The State Press reported that Magee was expected to sign with Boston.

Later on Thursday, the Red Sox announced that Magee has in fact signed with the organization. However, this will not effect Magee's status with ASU's football team for his senior season in 2012.

Over his time with ASU's baseball team, Magee made three starts, but his potential and athleticism has led him to be drafted twice before, by the Tampa Bay Rays and the Oakland Athletics.
