Another day, another dominating--and record setting--win for Team USA basketball.
Continuing group play, the Americans faced off on Thursday again Nigeria and emerged with a 156-73 win. The 156 points are the most an American team has ever scored in Olympic competition.
Diogu, hoping to impress NBA scouts, was terrific for Nigeria. He scored 27 and added seven rebounds, but was the only player on the Nigerian team to make any kind of impact. His team fell behind 49-25 after the first quarter, as the American attack was firing on all cylinders.
The other former Sun Devil had a quiet game. Harden scored just seven points and dished out four assists, but is lucky he didn't break his ankles on this play.
The Americans were led by Carmelo Anthony, who set a Team USA single-game scoring record with 37 in only 14 minutes of action, to go along with his single assist. Russell Westbrook added 21 and Kobe Bryant had 16 points and three boards.
Team USA's next opponent/sacrifice will be Lithuania on Saturday.
