The "high octane" era at ASU will begin a little slower than initially planned, as senior wide receiver and kick returner Jamal Miles has been suspended for a prior violation of team rules.

The news was first reported by The State Press reporter Mitch Terrell and later confirmed by ASUDevils.com and DevilsDigest.com.

This will be the second straight game missed by Miles due to suspension, as he also was forced to sit out the Maaco Bowl last December.

With Miles out, true freshman Richard Smith could see the start at the Z receiver spot, with D.J. Foster and Robert Nelson seeing more work in the return game.
