The Sun Devils split the road series against the Oregon schools this weekend, and their performance in 2013 has impressed many.

Last night's loss to Oregon was a heartbreaker for ASU, but the team is still in good shape at 14-3 overall with a 3-1 record in conference play.

What exactly is RPI? It's what the selection committee looks at in March to help determine who meets the criteria for entry into the NCAA Tournament. Quality wins, strength of schedule, and quality of opponents are the determining factors.

ASU's strength of schedule has gone up quite a bit since conference play began, and we expect that trend to continue with home games against Arizona, USC and UCLA over the next 12 days.

Without further ado, your RPI update for January 14, thanks to the information from RealTimeRPI:

Next up for the Sun Devils: Home game against the hated Arizona Wildcats on January 19th at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe. The game is sold out against the Wildcats, who have an RPI of 2 and an SOS of 7. This game will decide if the Devils are contenders or pretenders in 2013.
