Pac-12 Power Rankings Week 2: Oregon Rises To Top

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

Though two weeks, three teams are undefeated and three teams are winless in conference play. Here are the House of Sparky Pac-12 Power Rankings for the second week of conference action.

1. Oregon Ducks (14-2, 3-0) - The Ducks are one of three undefeated teams in conference, sitting at 3-0. Oregon upset Arizona on Thursday to put a halt to the Wildcats perfect season, and Oregon followed that up with 68-65 victory over Arizona State, ending their undefeated conference start. Last Week: 4

2. Arizona Wildcats (15-1, 3-1) - Arizona's 14 straight wins ended against Oregon on Thursday night, but the Wildcats rebounded nicely with a 80-70 win over Oregon State on Saturday. The Wildcats sit No. 7 in both major polls and Arizona travels to play rival Arizona State on Saturday. Last Week: 1

3. UCLA Bruins (14-3, 4-0) - The Bruins are riding a nine-game winning streak, and currently sit atop the Pac-12. UCLA ranks 9th in the country in assists per game, as senior guard Larry Drew II has at least five assits in 12 straight games. Last Week: 2

4. Arizona State Sun Devils (14-3, 3-1) - The Sun Devils got a split against the Oregon schools, beating Oregon State, and losing to Oregon on Sunday. Jahii Carson scored 20 points in the loss, and Evan Gordon put up 17 points against the Ducks. Last Week: 3

5. Washington Huskies (11-5, 3-0) - The Huskies are one of three unbeaten teams in conference play after the first two weekends. C.J. Wilcox is averaging a team-high 19.0 points per game, and Washington has won seven of eight games overall. Last Week: 5

6. Colorado Buffaloes (11-5, 1-3) - The Buffaloes split with the Los Angeles schools over the weekend. Colorado lost to UCLA by just three points and beat USC by six. The Buffaloes have lost three of four overall and travel to face the Washington schools this weekend. Last Week: 6

7. California Golden Bears (10-6, 2-2) - The Golden Bears had three players in double figures in a 67-54 win over Washington State. Cal split at home against the Washington schools, and the Golden Bears are on the road against rival Stanford on Saturday. Last Week: 7

8. Stanford Cardinal (10-7, 1-3) - The Cardinal got their first conference victory against Washington State last Wednesday. Stanford has some good losses this season but this season seems like a rebuilding season for coach Johnny Dawkins. Last Week: 10

9. USC Trojans (7-10, 2-2) - USC was the worst team in the Pac-12 last season, and their slow start this year cost Kevin O'Neil his job. The Trojans have five losses against ranked teams this season, however USC went just 6-26 a season ago. New head coach Bob Cantu and company host the Oregon schools this weekend. Last Week: 11

10. Washington State Cougars (9-7, 0-3) - The Cougars have lost three games in a row, two by single digits. Brock Motum continues to be one of the best kept secrets in the conference, as he is averaging 19.1 PPG and shooting 48% from the floor. Last Week: 9

11. Oregon State Beavers (10-6, 0-3) - The Beavers lost by 10 points to both Arizona and Arizona State last week. The Beavers play hard for Craig Robinson, but with leading rebounder Eric Moreland missing both games, the Beavers could not compete with the Arizona schools. Last Week: 8

12. Utah Utes (8-8, 0-4) - The Utes hold the worst record in the Pac-12 after two weeks of action. Utah is a vastly improved team from a year ago, but they do not have the talent yet to complete game in and game out in the conference. Last Week: 12
