ASU vs. Notre Dame: Twitter recap

Ronald Martinez

The Sun Devils and Irish squared off down South at the football capitol of the world. Here's what happened next in 140 characters or less.

The stage doesn't get much bigger than Jerry World on NBC in primetime against one of the most historic programs in the country. Media covering both teams traveled to Dallas to take in the spectacle. When they put fingers to keyboard in less than 140 characters, here is how the game played out.

It was promising early but the points ASU left on the board would come back to bite them.

This one hurt more. ASU got down inside the Notre Dame 5-yard line and couldn't convert. Taylor Kelly even had a wide open crossing receiver on third down and slipped on the turf.

ASU had played the better game up until this point. It could have been 14-7 if ASU capitalizes.

Jaelen made a beautiful grab and was one of the few players to show up to play last night.

In his first start of his career, he recorded 17 tackles after battling injury.

Definitely not full but a nice showing by ASU and Notre Dame fans alike.

No one had Notre Dame leading by a point at halftime. ASU is a second half team so things were looking up.

He missed a chip shot to start the game and somehow made this 53 yarder...

He is ready for the NFL the way he is currently playing. The eyes and ears of NFL scouts have certainly perked up by now.

This was a fluke-type play and safety against tight end (especially with the undersized ASU secondary) was not a good matchup.

Irabor had one of the most exciting plays of the game returning an interception for a touchdown swinging the momentum back towards ASU.

Brindza was money after missing that first field goal. Each point turned out to count too since the Fighting Irish only won by three points

Pretty cool picture here when ASU actually tied the game with a De'Marieya Nelson 21 yard catch from Taylor Kelly.

ASU then had to punt but then got a stop and forced Notre Dame to punt again giving ASU 99 yards and just over a minute to potential glory.

This put the nail in the coffin.

The pop starlet and daughter of ASU football alumnus Phillippi Sparks weighing in. That it does Jordan, that it does.

For what it's worth you have to hand it to ASU for not giving up.

It was a coming out story of sorts for Randall. It will be interesting to see if Randall can hold on to his starting spot.
