Pac-12 Championship Game 2013: All you need to know if attending

Christian Petersen

Are you set to attend one of the biggest games in Arizona State history? Well, then here's all you need to know before heading out to Tempe Saturday.

Tempe is set to host one of the biggest games in Sun Devil Stadium history this Saturday (Dec. 7) when Stanford (10-2) takes on Arizona State (10-2) for the 2013 Pac-12 Championship.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. MT and the game can be viewed on ESPN. But if you're one of those lucky individuals who will be attending the battle for the Rose Bowl, here are some helpful tips:

Ticket information and pickup times

Pac-12 officials are strongly suggesting you pick up your general admission tickets by the end of Friday to avoid the masses the day of. Will call will be open until 7 p.m. MT Friday evening and will reopen at 10:30 a.m. the day of the game.

For those still interested in making it out to the big game, less than 5,000 tickets remain. Tickets are currently selling for the cheapest in Pac-12 Championship history and can be purchased at thesundevils.com or by calling (480) 965-5333. And, of course, you could always do it the old fashioned way by heading over to the box office itself located on the south side of Sun Devil Stadium.

Street closures and arrival times

With a combination of street closures and more stringent security measures, Pac-12 officials recommend fans arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than they normally would. The following streets will be closed due to the Mill Avenue Arts Festival:

  • Mill avenue from University Dr. to 3rd St.
  • 5th St. from Ash Ave. to Myrtle Ave.
  • 7th St. will be close

IMPORTANT: Contrary to what most Arizona State fans are accustomed to, the Pac-12 is suggesting fans enter from the North Gate to avoid long lines. Bag checks and other sercruity measures will be heightened so arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than you normally would.

The conference is planning a special pregame presentation that will include a number of Pac-12 personalities inside the stadium so fans who are interested need to plan accordingly. To replace Arizona State's celebratory fireworks, the Pac-12 has planned their very own "pregame pyro show" as well. In other words, if you want to soak up the whole experience, it would be wise to be in your seats at least an hour early.

ESPN Radio's College GameDay information

Tempe will be the College GameDay crew's eighth and final stop of the 2013 football season. Ryan Russillo, Trevor Matich, and Brad Edwards will be hosting the show live from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from the south lawn of Wells Fargo Arena just adjacent to Sun Devil Stadium.

Fans who are interested can join the crew for a chance to participate in their prize giveaways during the show.
