The junior college tight end should add some depth to coach Todd Graham's up-tempo scheme

De'Marieya Nelson has officially committed to the Arizona State Sun Devils on National Signing Day. The 6-foot-4 tight end checks in as a three star recruit according to Scout.

Nelson, the sixth best junior college tight end, had ten other offers according to Rivals, including scholarship offers from San Diego State, Nevada and Memphis.

He played at San Joaquin Delta junior college in California and will transfer into the ASU football program as a redshirt junior this spring. He caught 26 passes for 218 yards and two scores last season and should provide some depth as a receiving tight end despite his 230 pound frame. His strengths are his hands and catching ability in traffic, and his unique blend of size, speed and versatility fits very well schematically with the team's 3-back position.

The Sun Devils should be returning six tight ends to their roster, including standout player Chris Coyle and Darwin Rogers, so while Nelson will sit behind them in the depth charts, he still could be an intriguing factor in 2013.
