Nick Begg hopes to compete for playing time on one of the best D-Lines in the Pac-12 - Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE
Santa Margarita Catholic produced a number of high quality recruits this year, and the Sun Devils cashed in by landing three-star defensive end Nick Begg.
Nick Begg, the No. 95 rated defensive end according to Scout, has officially committed to Arizona State on National Signing Day 2012. Begg, who played for Santa Margarita Catholic, chose the Sun Devils over the San Diego State Aztecs.
Begg initially gave his verbal commitment to Arizona State on July 23, 2012, just two weeks after giving a verbal to San Diego State.
After visiting the Sun Devils twice during spring practice last season, Begg came to Tempe again on December 14, 2012 and did not waver in his commitment.
The Arizona State coaching staff had a chance to see Begg in action this fall as his Santa Margarita Eagles defeated Brophy Prep in Phoenix at the beginning of his senior season.
Though he is a three-star recruit, Begg will likely enroll at ASU, greyshirt for the 2013 season, and then come onto scholarship in 2014.
