Corey Smith, a three-star defensive lineman according to scouting service Scout.com, has signed with the Arizona State Sun Devils. Smith comes to ASU after backing out a commitment with Tulane.

Smith, a product of O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, also had offers from Kentucky, Louisville and Arkansas, among others. He was recently a commit to Tulane, but backed out to become a Sun Devil. Scout ranks him as the 109th defensive end in the 2013 class.

The 6-foot-7, 245-pound Smith obviously has great height and plenty of room to fill out. While his frame and skills suggest that he could potentially play offensive line, he'll begin on defense with the Sun Devils, where his pass rushing skills should fit well with the team's attacking style.

He joins an already loaded Sun Devil defensive line anchored around All-American Will Sutton, Freshman All-American Jaxon Hood and Davon Coleman. Other major additions to the unit in this class include Marcus Hardison, Demetrius Cherry and Kisima Jagne.
