"Happy Sun Devil Sunday!"
That's a phrase that Sun Devil fans and the team at House of Sparky throws around once every seven days. We use the words with regularity, but the Arizona State coaching staff was able to join in on our chorus this week.
On Sunday afternoon, the Sun Devils picked up their second verbal commitment of the day as wide receiver Nick Alexander of Lancaster High in Texas announced his intentions. Word of Alexander's commitment came just hours after offensive lineman Alex Anderson pledged his allegiance to coach Todd Graham.
Though coaches are not aloud to comment on verbal commitments, Graham did not hide his excitement on Twitter as he tweeted this just minutes after Alexander's pledge.

Both Alexander and Anderson are members of the class of 2014 and their announcements bring the Sun Devils' current total to seven verbal commitments for next year.
Rivals and Scout.com list Alexander as a three-star recruit while ESPN.com pegs him as a four-star receiver.
As a junior, Alexander caught 28 passes for 506 yards and seven touchdowns, which are impressive numbers for a team that features a run-heavy offense. An ESPN.com scouting report suggests that his run-blocking skills are worth noting.
Alexander also has offers from Oklahoma, Illinois, Southern Methodist, and Washington according to Rivals.
Alexander is the second wide receiver to announce his verbal commitment to Arizona State this week, as he joins four-star (and in-state) prospect Tyler Whiley who tweeted his decision on Tuesday.
With plenty of offensive weapons planning on coming to Tempe, offensive coordinator Mike Norvell joined Graham in his excitement on Twitter.
Finally, class of 2014 quarterback commit Manny Wilkins saw some of his hard work on the recruiting trail come to fruition and he expressed his delight.
