Taylor Kelly, Shelby Houlihan receive Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal of Honor - The Pac-12 announced Tuesday Kelly and Houlihan won the Conference Medal, which is award to senior male and female athletes who exhibit "the greatest combination in scholarship, athletics, and leadership." Kelly was named the Pac-12 Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the end of last season while leading the Sun Devils to 10 wins, and Houlihan finished as a 12-time All-American in cross-country and track. Cory Hahn and Stephanie Preach won last year's award.
ASU leads Pac-12 in Zero Waste Challenge, cares about nature - After the final Director's Cup standings were released Saturday with Arizona State tying its worst finish since the competition began in 1993-94, Sun Devil Athletics had something more positive to celebrate. The Green Sports Alliance, which host the Zero Waste Challenge with universities nationwide, announced Monday the Sun Devils were a conference leader in sustainability, ranking first in recycling and organic changes in the conference. ASU has always been known as a sustainable university under Michael Crow's presidency, so it isn't really a surprise Sun Devil Athletics leads the conference in such category.
