Our No. 12 Play of the ASU Football Season: JoJo Wicker’s heady fumble recovery vs. UCLA (0:37 mark)
Arizona State, coming off a thumping in the Los Angeles Coliseum against USC, was dealt the task of having to stop quarterback Josh Rosen and the UCLA Bruins offense.
With the game scoreless, Rosen faked a play-action and pulled the ball back to pass. But as he began to throw, the ball fell to the turf behind him.
Wicker shed his blocker and noticed the ball on the ground. As Rosen raced to pick up the ball, Wicker launched his body into him. The maneuver shielded the ball from Rosen, while Wicker reached out and brought the ball into his body for the fumble recovery.
The Sun Devils would score three points on the resulting possession, which would prove to be crucial to earning the victory in a 23-20 win which sent ASU to a 5-1 record.
Check back in to House of Sparky tomorrow to see the No. 11 play in our 12 Plays of Christmas series!
