On July 2, 2013, an incoming high schooler made it known he was one day going to one day play for the Arizona State Sun Devils. Nearly three and half years later, he finally made it official.
Loren Mondy, a linebacker out of Lake Ridge High School (Texas), announced Wednesday he has signed an agreement to play for the Sun Devils via Twitter.
I am officially a Sun Devil it's such a blessing to be apart of something great ❗️ ❗️#forksup @SunDevilSource @DevilsDigest

Mondy is the youngest known ASU recruit in program history, having originally committed to the Sun Devils at 14 years old. He is the son of Michael Mondy, who played for Sun Devils head coach Todd Graham both in high school and at East Central University.
Mondy selected ASU over California, Indiana, Iowa State, Illinois, North Texas and Texas State.
His signing comes a day after the Sun Devils secured consensus 4-star cornerback Alex Perry, who also has relative ties to Graham through his brother Armand, a current starter in ASU’s secondary. He’ll be an early enrollee at ASU and report in January.
Mondy is a consensus three-star prospect across major scouting services (Rivals, Scout, 247 Sports). Here’s an outlook on him.
Loren Mondy, LB (Lake Ridge HS-Texas)
Scout: 3-star, 6-0, 234 lbs, No. 58 Outside LB (ASU)
Rivals: 3-star, 6-1, 240 lbs, No. 20 Inside LB (ASU)
247: 3-star, 6-0, 234 lbs, No. 37 ILB (ASU)
Below are highlights displaying Mondy’s versatility.
