Our great Michigan blog here at SBN, Maize n Brew, has written a great little piece about BC LB Mark Herzlich. As written over there,

"Right now Mark Herzlich is not an All-American, a linebacker, or even a football player. He is a human being who just received some horrible news, and a human being who needs and deserves our support. Not just from Boston College supporters, but from all of us, regardless of allegiances."

Please read the article. God bless, Mark. I am pulling for you.

#39 - C Kyryl Natyahzko (94 grade), potential ASU recruit. We're #2 atm.
#74 - SG Demetrius Walker (92 grade) - our new hybrid

For next year? Watch out for:
#21 PG Phil Pressey (97grade) from Texas. ASU #2 right now.
#26 SF Terrence Jones (97 grade) from Oregon. ASU #1 atm.
#41 SF Terrance Ross (96 grade) from Oregon. ASU #2.

Nice to see us in on such highly touted players.

Last night's Arizona/Arizona State basketball game produced the highest college basketball rating of the season for FOX Sports Arizona. In addition, it generated the best rating for a UA/ASU basketball game since 2002. According to Neilsen Media research, the game received a 2.4 rating/4 share, which means that an average of 43,262 Phoenix households watched the game. The last time an ASU/UA basketball game had a rating higher than this was back on Jan 23, 2002. The rating was a 2.5 as ASU beat No. 10 Arizona 88-72 in Tempe.

"Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina, Thabeet...UCONN, Griffin...Oklahoma...even a casual college basketball fan knows the names. They're all candidates for player of the year. But those of us on the east coast might want to stay up late one night to see one of the game's most exciting players. James Harden of Arizona State was good enough to head to the NBA after his freshman year last season and coaches in the Pac-10 wish he had. Harden had 15 points and 11 assists helping the Sun Devils sweep UCLA for the first time in six years. It comes with a little crash...he nearly had a triple-double with eight turnovers but he's high-risk high-reward. Harden is a 6'5" shooting guard with point guard skills averaging almost 22 points a game, four assists and five rebounds. Watch Harden one night and you'll have plenty of energy the next day."

Arizona State: The biggest question is will 292-pound incoming freshman Corey Adams start beside Guy from day one. Saia Falahola and Jonathan English have both seen a lot of action, so it's not a sure thing.

Adams and Guy pose a formidable, young duo on the inside - I would not be surprised if Adams gets some starts.

AZ Desert Swarm was initially founded in January as a SBN site focusing on the college athletics of the UofA Wildcats. The site's pretty sterile right now, as there are only about two or three semi-regular posters (including myself) at the moment. But I know there are also UofA fans lurking who haven't posted at the site yet. If you're out there, do us a favor and add AZ Desert Swarm to your SBN blog circuit.

Rivals.com Recruiting Rankings from Yesterday...ASU at #27

Rivals.com Recruiting Rankings from Yesterday...ASU at #27

Pretty interesting. And not half bad. This little sidebar was found on Metcalf's blog.

"Rivals.com has moved Arizona State's football recruiting class from No. 43 nationally to No. 27 with the signing of linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

The most recent Rivals.com national team rankings for Pac-10 teams are:
2. USC
16. UCLA
19. Stanford
27. ASU
31. Oregon
42. California
45. Arizona
52. Oregon State
67. Washington
88. Washington State

Rivals is not including athlete Kipeli Koniseti, who signed around 12 p.m. Wednesday, as part of ASU's class. There also is a chance that the Sun Devils later will sign a second wide receiver to to with J.J. Holliday."

ESPN is saying ASU has reported that all their committed players have faxed in their letters of intent?

So, is the class the 21 we know about? Will update you as we find out.
