Robert James, our former linebacker and defensive leader, has been waived by the Altanta Falcons.
Lingering symptoms from a concussion have forced rookie linebacker Robert James to be shut down for the season by the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons waived James, a fifth-round draft pick from Arizona State, on Tuesday after a specialist determined the linebacker was not recovering from a concussion as well as expected.
The Falcons will retain rights to James, but will be able to fill the roster spot with another player.
James was listed behind Keith Brooking and Coy Wire on the depth chart at outside linebacker.
In 2007, James led the Sun Devil defense with 106 tackles (62 of which were unassisted). He also had 2.5 sacks and 4 interceptions.
