With the newest update of ESPN.COM's Joe Lunardi's bracketology posted this morning, it is time for an update on how I perceive the Devils would fare.
Lunardi has the Devils seeded in the South (Memphis) region with a first round matchup against the to be Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference(MAAC) champion Siena Saints, hailing from upstate New York. This 13-5 matchup should be a breeze for the Devils. The Saints have played some decent teams (Pitt, OKState, and Kansas) however they haven't been in any of these contests. ASU moves on in this one to face the winner of the Texas and Stephen F. Austin game.
Once again, the Devils run in to the Longhorns. Per my first bracketology post, I still believe the Devils will defeat the Longhorns. These two teams matchup pretty well, and I think it would come down to a big game from Rik, Kuksiks, Rooksiks. Round 3...
Round 3 leads the Devils to the Demon Deacons. The number 1 team in the nation. They look good. I don't think ASU can pull this one out. I quote myself with "I am ready to hand that national championship to UNC." Wooops. Wake Forest looks unbeatable right now. The good thing is, its not March, and come March it could be a completely different story. However for now, I'll give this one to WF. A sweet 16 trip is all I see in the future of the Sun Devils with the current pairings by Lunardi.
Big game this week against the Wildcats. GO DEVILS!
