Bracketology Update: Devils a 7 seed

With another bracketology update from Lunardi, I bring you my breakdown of just how far the Devils will go (with a win over UCLA fresh in my mind).  Lunardi pairs the Devils with the Davidson Wildcats in the first round.  The only thing anyone really knows about Davidson is Curry.  One of the top guards in the league, and quite a talent, Curry brings the mentality that can be scary to face in the tournament.  However, the Cats have no wins against AP Top 25 teams (0-3 with losses to Duke, Oklahoma, and Purdue).  With the Devils recent success against the Wildcats (albeit the OTHER Wildcats), I think the Devils have enough depth to take down Davidson.  Harden is superior compared to Curry and our supporting cast is much better than theirs.  They haven't played a decent team in months.  Devils win.  Moving on...

2nd Round matchup brings us the 2nd seeded Cardinals of Louisville.  Louisville has been one of the hottest teams in America(until last night).  They have beaten 4 ranked teams this year (4-1 against AP Top 25), their only loss to UConn.  However they have some losses that give me hope (Western KY, Minnesota, UNLV, and Notre Dame).  We are better than all of those teams.  Maybe it is just my confidence after last nights thrilling win, but the Devils will beat Louisville.  Louisville won't hit free throws, as their best shooter is shooting 72%.  We all know the tourney comes down to teams who can hit their FT's and put teams away, and Lousiville isn't one of them.  The Devils win.  Moving on...

The winner of the 3-11 matchup between Clemson(3 seed) and Wisconsin(11 seed who upset Tennessee), the Devils will draw Clemson.  I am unsure what to think about Clemson. They've beaten Miami, GT, Virginia Tech, and Duke.  All good wins.  They've lost to Florida State, UNC, and Wake Forest.  All good losses.  Since they are only 1-2 against the good old AP Top 25, I like the Devils chances.  I don't ever remember a good Clemson team in the tournament.  Not that I remember a good Devils team in the tournament, but with a hellish devil on our side, a tiger is no match.  When its a tossup, imagine a fight between the mascots, and go with your gut feeling.  So I went with Sparky, he has a pitchfork. Clemson's logo is a paw.  Devils win.  Moving on...

After UNC is upset by UW, they have to play the Devils.  That's right a super PAC-10 matchup of friendly foes.  I call it revenge of the forgotten weekend.  We can take UW.  Pendy shuts down Brockman.  We don't let "some freshman" and Dentmon destroy us again.  We are unstoppable.  Devils win.  Moving on...

Final Four matchup with UConn.  Game over Devils.  As seen in earlier Bracketology updates, we can't stop Thabeet.  He's just too good.  Huskies win.  Although upset we lost, I am content with a final four appearance.  Because 2 years ago I stormed the court when we beat USC for our first Pac-10 win of the year. Last night reminded me of that, only last night wasn't for comical reasons.  We are a good team when the links come together.  We need contributions from Glasser, Abbott, Kuksiks, McMillan, Pendergraph, and Harden in order to take us where i think we can go.  And thats what I expect to get. That wraps up this edition of the Bracketology Update.  With a win against SC on Sunday, I see the Devils as a 5 seed.  GO DEVILS!
