It looks like the Sun Devils will once again be without wideout Brandon Smith, the 5th year senior out of California. Early reports are that Smith has a torn ligament in his knee, likely ending his senior season. Smith will be able to apply for a 6th-year of eligibility from the NCAA, which I would think would be granted given his injury plagued career. Smith was expected to backup Kerry Taylor and Gerrell Robinson. Although not a huge blow to the Devils offense, it does hurt the depth at WR.
WR Allante Battle has decided to hang up his football cleats and concentrate on his track career. Luckily for the football team, Battle was on a track scholarship. We wish him the best in competing with ASU's highly heralded track team.
