This is the first weekend of the 2010 season that the Sun Devils have not had a game, and I must say it's an interesting feeling. No previews, GameThreads, halftime reports to mull over - just an empty slate.
It's good for the team to take a break and work on what has been plaguing them, whether it is nagging injuries, bad test scores or girl problems. These things add up when you are never available for a Friday or Saturday night date.
Fear not, ASU friends. There are a bunch of important sporting events this evening, and I highly encourage you to join me in the consumption of the following:
4:00 p.m. AZT: Ohio State Buckeyes @ Wisconsin Badgers. The #1-ranked Buckeyes face off against the somewhat underwhelming #18th-ranked Badgers. I don't think Wisconsin has the juice to pull this off, but I'd love to see it anyway.
4:30 p.m. AZT: San Fransisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies, NLCS Game 1: This one is going to be awesome. Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay dueling to the death. I'm all about this. Check it out on FOX.
7:00 p.m. AZT: Detroit Red Wings @ Phoenix Coyotes. This is the home opener for the wild dogs after they played a series in Prague against the Boston Bruins. The Coyotes could sure use your support, and it looks like they might stick around for a while.
Now that I look at the schedule, I'm a little glad that ASU has a bye. I am sure they want to watch these games as well.
Go Cougars!
