NFL Draft - First ASU Player (Shawn Lauvao, OG) Goes 3rd Round

Took a little bit, but an ASU player goes 3rd round, 28th overall to Mike Holmgren and the Cleveland Browns.  Good luck Shawn, and I am sure we will see you blocking for Colt McCoy shortly. Should remind Holmgren of Floyd Womack.

Will update if any other players go - but it will likely not be until tomorrow.

UPDATE:  Day 3 saw a run of Seahawks, like Joe in the comments points out.

First was ILB Travis Goethel going to Oakland in the 6th round at pick number 21.  Should compete for a spot on special teams with the Raiders - his hair will fit in nicely as well.

Next - Kyle Williams to San Fransisco with the 37th pick of the 6th round.  Kyle should compete on special teams for them, but is not likely to return kicks since they just traded for Ted Ginn Jr.

Finally, my Seahawks grabbed Dexter Davis 7th round 29th overall - a bit of a tweener at the pro level at 6'1 1/2 and 244 pounds, Dexter turned in a nice combine with a 4.64 40 time and some solid quickness drill results.  He might be moved to OLB and has been compared to another Pac-10 7th round tweener the Seahawks took last year - Nick Reed.

Not the best draft for Sun Devils, but a solid one nonetheless as ASU produced a 3rd, two 6s, and a 7.

UPDATE 2:

ASU free-agent signings: WR Chris McGaha with Jacksonville; RB Dimitri Nance to Atlanta and CB Pierre Singfield with Houston.

Good luck boys!
