Sun Devils Own Mac Court For All Eternity, Defeat Oregon 60-55

What a way to close out the storied McArthur Court. The Sun Devils, despite only getting a combined 10 points from Rihards Kuksiks, Ty Abbott and Jamelle McMillan, were able to defeat the Oregon Ducks 60-55 on Saturday evening.

ASU didn't have Trent Lockett for this contest and coach Herb Sendek was forced to give a lot of minutes to newcomers Carrick Felix and Brandon Dunson. They delivered in a big way.

Felix scored 19 points while making 7 of 8 free throw attempts, including two at the end of the game to salt the victory away. Dunson added 14, and Ruslan Pateev contributed ten points off the bench as well.

From a fan's perspective, this is a huge win for our program. We were embarrassed against Oregon State on Thursday and it feels good to ring in 2011 with a road victory in the Pac-10.

With the win, the Sun Devils move to 8-5 on the season, and 1-1 in Pac-10 play. With every character-building victory, this team gels together and the team we see today is nothing compared to the team we will see come March.
