The Arizona State Sun Devils (3-0) begin their second series of the season tonight at 6:30 p.m. when they take on the Delaware Blue Hens (1-2). ASU will wear wristbands with the #34 on them in honor of Cory Hahn, the freshman outfielder who was seriously injured while sliding into second base against New Mexico on Sunday.
ASU was barred from postseason play in the 2011 season after the NCAA ruled that there was a "lack of institutional control" over the team during Pat Murphy's tenure as coach. Even so, the Sun Devils remain a top-flight team and are ranked 9th in the nation.
The schedule calls for a doubleheader on Saturday, sandwiched by single games on Friday and Sunday. There is a large storm coming for Tempe this weekend that may change these plans, however. The National Weather Service expects very cold weather to sweep the valley with a large amount of rain mixed in. It could be a miserable weekend for baseball, but the Devils are used to playing through adversity.
Per The State Press, all four games will be webcasted on foxsportsarizona.com, a nice treat for fans who can't make it to Packard Stadium this weekend.
