Another day, another great win for the Arizona State Sun Devils softball team.
Dallas Escobedo and Kaylyn Castillo continued their strong play in the Super Regional. Castillo hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, while Escobedo went all seven innings, racking up nine strikeouts.
Escobedo's 32nd win of the season came at a perfect time for a team that rallied just last night to take the first game of the series.
The Sun Devils were able to get to Texas A&M pitcher Melissa Dumezich much earlier in the game tonight, scoring four runs in the first five innings to seal the victory for the top-seeded team in the bracket.
Our attention turns to Tucson, where the 8th-seeded Arizona Wildcats look to advance to the Women's College World Series against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Should Arizona defeat Oklahoma over this weekend series, they will meet the Sun Devils in OKC. What a way to continue our state rivalry by getting a shot at the 'Cats!
Bring it on, and GO DEVILS!
