The Arizona St. Sun Devils fell to the Colorado Buffalos on Thursday 69-54 . ASU managed to score only four points in the game's first 11 minutes and only 15 points by halftime, burdening the Sun Devils with a 16-point deficit before the second half even got underway.
Guard Chris Colvin, who filled in for Trent Lockett (out with a sprained ankle) at the point position, led the way with 15 points and two assists. Carrick Felix and Jonathan Gilling pitched in with 13 and 12 points, respectively, to shoulder most of ASU's point output. Outside of those three, all other ASU players combined had only 14 points.
The Buffalos used a balanced offensive attack- highlighted by four players with 11 points or more- to wear down ASU's defense. Colorado shot better than ASU from the floor (48.9% to 41.7%) and at the line (80.0% to 66.7%) to compensate for their awful three-point shooting (21.4%).
