ASU Basketball Player Rankings Week 4: Bachynski Takes Top Spot

Jordan Bachynski wrote his name into the ASU record books with the school's first triple double. Of course that puts him as our player of the week.

Was there any question who this week's player of the week was going to be? Anytime a player does something for the first time in school history, they are going to get some love from House of Sparky. Bachynksi recorded Arizona State's first career triple double on Saturday in ASU's 87-76 victory over Cal State Northridge.

The junior center scored 13 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and swatted 12 shots to record the feat. The Sun Devils went 2-0 last week, with victories over Hartford and Cal Stat Northridge, here are the fourth installment of House of Sparky's player rankings.

Who's Hot

The Sun (Player of the Week)

Jordan Bachynski - Bachynski was quiet against Hartford, only playing 22 minutes, and giving way to freshman Eric Jacobsen. However, we all know what happened on Saturday, Bachynski is leading the team with 7.8 rebounds per game to go along with his 10.9 points.

An impressive feat that went unnoticed was that Bachynski shot 8-10 from the field in two games this week. The seven-footer also averaged 7.5 blocks per game this week, not too shabby.

Best of the Rest

Carrick Felix - Last Wednesday against Hartford, Felix posted another double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The senior posted 17 points, six rebounds and two steals against Cal State Northridge, and Felix is averaging 18.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in his last six games.

Jahii Carson - Carson had two 20-point games last week, posting 21 against Cal State Northridge and 20 against Hartford. Carson is leading the Sun Devils in scoring, with 18.6 points per game. The redshirt freshman shot 9-12 against Hartford and is averaging 5.4 assists per game on the season.

Evan Gordon - Gordon was in double figures both games this past week, scoring 20 points against Cal State Northridge and 12 against Hartford. Gordon was 4-6 from beyond the arc against Hartford and also tallied four assists and three steals in the contest.

Pleasant Surprise

Eric Jacobsen - As anyone improved this season as much as Jacobsen has? The freshman forward posted 16 points and six rebound against Hartford, a career-high in points. Jacobsen has solidified his spot as the second man off the bench and continues to improve his play.

Who's Not

Jonathan Gilling - Gilling averaged 7.5 points per game this week, only scoring three points against Hartford. Gilling shot 3-8 from three point territory against Cal State Northridge. Gilling only grabbed eight rebounds in two games this week.

Chris Colvin - Colvin scored just five points total this week. The senior was 0-5 from the field against Cal State Northridge and only had three assists total this week.
