It's a day that ends in "y", so that must mean that a Sun Devil athlete or two took home some recognition, with one of those probably being Will Sutton.
True to form, one was.
Sutton, the all-world defensive tackle, has already won the Pac-12 Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year Award and was named to the AFCA FBS Coaches All-American team. But this is Will Sutton, so that means he needs ALL the awards, and the college football experts at CBS Sports obliged.
Today, Sutton landed a spot on the 2012 CBSSports.com All-America Team as a first-team defensive tackle, mainly because of his ridiculous season of 10.5 sacks and 20 tackles-for-loss, but also because no on at CBS was brave enough to tell Sutton "No". Wise move, CBS.
The folks at CBS also bestowed first-team All-Pac-12 honors to safety Keelan Johnson, who tallied 81 tackles and a team-high five interceptions.
On the hardwood, Sun Devil wing Carrick Felix was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after a sensational stretch of play. Over the past four games, Felix is averaging 20.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. To top the dynamic Jahii Carson, you have to be incredible, and Felix has been just that in helping lead ASU to a 6-1 start.
