ASU Vs. UCLA: Sun Devils Compete, Fall 57-66

The ASU Sun Devils hung tight with the UCLA Bruins all night but couldn't score enough in a 66-57 loss. Jonathan Gilling accounted for more than 25% of ASU's offense with 17 total points, trailing only UCLA's Lazeric Jones as the game's leading scorer (20 points).

The Sun Devils got out to an early 14-9 lead with buckets from six different players. After that run, however, ASU failed to score for nearly eight minutes. UCLA took advantage and pulled ahead to claim a 25-24 halftime lead.

The Bruins continued to outpace ASU in the second half as Gilling and Trent Lockett carried the offensive load. Lockett finished the game with 13 points to accompany Gilling's 17, while point guard Chris Colvin scored 10 points and added nine assists to just barely miss out on a double-double.

After this game, the Sun Devils have just two games left to play. ASU takes on the struggling USC Trojans this Saturday in a game that will be played on Fox Sports Arizona.
