Arizona State's dynamic senior return man Jamal Miles picked up some more recognition today, as he was one of 31 players named to the Jet Award watch list. The Jet Award recognizes the best return man in the country.
Miles had an explosive 2011 season, in which he proved he was one of the best returners in the nation. He averaged 26.3 yards per kickoff return in 2011, taking two back for touchdowns. His next yard gain on a kickoff return will give him sole possession of the school's career yardage record, and he already holds ASU's career kickoff return touchdown mark with three. On punt returns, he averaged a stellar 16.6 yards per return and had a 78-yard score against Oregon State.
Earlier this offseason, Miles was named to the 2012 Paul Hornung Award watch list, honoring the most versatile player in the country.
From this initial list, 12 semifinalists will be named in October, with four finalists being selected in November before the winner is honored in December.
