D.J. Foster wasted little time in getting his name called, catching a 16-yard pass on the game's first play. He later caught a short screen pass on that opening drive.
Later in the first quarter, the team gave him some carries and he did not disappoint. Foster showed off his terrific speed in getting around the corner, slicing through the NAU defense for gains of 16 and 24 yards. He ended the first quarter with 63 yards on just four carries. His 63 yards rushing were the most yards in a first quarter of a debut in Sun Devil history.
He started the second quarter off by scoring the first of what figures to be many touchdowns in his career by scoring from one yard out to extend the Sun Devil lead to 28-0...with still 11 minutes left in the second quarter.
