According to multiple reports, Arizona State has landed a commitment from 4-star linebacker Derik Calhoun out of El Cerrito, California. Calhoun had been a USC commit, but decommitted a few weeks ago and took a visit to Arizona State last weekend when the Sun Devils throttled Washington.
Brandon Huffman of Scout.com was the first to report the news.

Calhoun is listed as the No. 9 outside linebacker in the country by Rivals.com. He is rated as the 147th best player in the nation by Rivals, and will play in the U.S. Army All-American bowl in January. Calhoun's offer list includes: UCLA, USC, Miami, Washington, California and Nebraska.

Calhoun confirmed the news minutes after the reports surfaced.

Calhoun is the 18th commitment for Arizona State in their 2014 class, he joins Christian Sam as the two outside linebackers committed to Arizona State.
