ASU Football: The offense on senior day

This Saturday, it's time to celebrate the journeys of players who made it through four or even five years as Sun Devil football players.

The seniors on the Arizona State football team have endured plenty during their time as Sun Devils. Most were recruited by Dennis Erickson and played under his staff for two seasons. Some were junior college transplants, convinced to join Todd Graham's bus when the wheels began rolling.

On Saturday, the seniors will play their final regular season home game at Sun Devil Stadium. After long careers and a roller coaster-type journey through the Arizona State program, they can finally celebrate.

Here's a look at the graduating seniors on the offensive side of the football.

Alonzo Agwuenu-Wide Receiver: While Agwuenu didn't enjoy the success he once envisioned at Arizona State after transferring from junior  college, the Chino Hills, Calif. native still made an impact during his time with the program. Agwuenu has 12 career catches, including an 11-yard touchdown catch in last year's Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

Chris Coyle-Tight End: Coyle will leave Arizona State as one of the most successful tight ends in the history of a program that has often been called "Tight End U." Coyle has been a consistent threat in the receiving game during the past two seasons, and his 26 receptions and 385 yards this year are good enough for fourth on the team in both categories.

Coyle's name lives on in the history books at Arizona State because of a 2012 season in which he set the school record for singe-season receptions by a tight end with 57. Coyle's five touchdown receptions in 2012 were just one shy of tying a school record held by Zach Miller and Joe Petty.

Marion Grice-Running Back: In all likelihood, Grice won't take the field Saturday after leaving Pasadena on crutches after suffering an injury against UCLA. While the extent of his injury is unknown, the extent of his production as a Sun Devil is well known. Grice is fourth in Arizona State history with 39 career touchdowns after compiling 19 in his debut season as a JUCO transfer and 20 this season as the starting running back.

Grice is one of the most versatile players to ever come through Arizona State and his 3,045 all-purpose yards in the span of 24 games proves that point. In his career, Grice is averaging a touchdown once every 10.4 times he touches the ball. Arizona State has long been a place where junior college players come to thrive, but Marion Grice will go down as one of the greatest JUCO transfers the Sun Devils have ever seen.

Kody Koebensky-Center: Koebensky has quietly developed into one of Arizona State's most outstanding offensive linemen because of the leadership he provides up front. Todd Graham and Mike Norvell have praised Koebensky for his discipline and his instincts as center is the most mentally demanding position on the offensive line.

Koebensky will conclude his second season as Arizona State's starting center this year and he will be among the toughest Sun Devils to replace on either side of the ball.

Kyle Middlebrooks-Running Back/Wide Receiver: Kyle Middlebrooks has endured an interesting career at Arizona State but has found a way to make a difference on the field throughout his career. To our knowledge, Middlebrooks has not been used this season and may be able to redshirt and return for a fifth year. If so, the running back and wide receiving threat could fill a D.J. Foster-like role.

Middlebrooks succeeded as a kick returner and receiving threat during his freshman season in 2010 before becoming a more involved player in the passing game in 2011. Middlebrooks caught 19 passes for 135 yards as a sophomore, which are both career highs.

Kevin Ozier-Wide Receiver: Senior day will be a special day for every senior, but especially so for Kevin Ozier. The former walk-on earned a scholarship under Todd Graham and has been a leader in the locker room from the day Graham stepped on campus. Ozier has had to earn his keep at Arizona State, and he is a valued and respected teammate for his fellow Sun Devils.

This season, Ozier has 18 catches for 287 yards after catching 21 passes including five touchdowns a season ago. When Jaelen Strong was injured against Washington this season, Ozier responded with eight catches for 88 yards to help secure a 53-24 victory.

R.J. Robinson-Running Back: The 5-foot-9 Robinson has seen time in mop-up duty this year at the end of big victories and his determined running style has made him a fan favorite. Robinson has 22 carries on the season for 93 yards and Todd Graham would love to use him at the end of the Territorial Cup game to pad those stats.

Darwin Rogers-Tight End: Rogers was a junior college transfer the Sun Devils brought in to fit Mike Norvell's scheme during the first season of the new regime. A 6-foot-4, 250-pound beast, Rogers is sometimes called upon to add bulk to the offense in running situations. This season, Rogers has registered three catches for 28 yards after tallying three catches and a touchdown a season ago.

Alante Wright-Wide Receiver: A senior out of Hamilton High in Chandler, Ariz., Wright has seen most of his time on the practice squad at Arizona State. The Sun Devils are always happy to find local recruits and Wright is someone who practiced with the team for a full four seasons, which is a lot to ask of players who won't see playing time during their careers.

Stay tuned as the defensive and special teams seniors will be highlighted on Wednesday.
