The Arizona State Sun Devils have picked up a verbal commitment from 4-star defensive tackle Tashon Smallwood out of Fresno, California. Smallwood made the news public Thursday night via Twitter.

Smallwood is listed at 6-1 and 290 pounds. He has over a dozen scholarship offers including: Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin. ESPN ranks Smallwood was the 20th defensive tackle and the 240th player nationally in the class of 2014.
Rivals.com ranks him as the 34th best defensive tackle in the class of 2014 and the 43rd best player in the state of California.
The wait is over four-star: DL Tashon Smallwood committed to the ASU coaches during an in-home visit with him tonight.— Devils Digest (@DevilsDigest) December 13, 2013
Smallwood is the first defensive tackle in Arizona State's 2014 recruiting class and he fills a position of need along a defensive line that will be losing Will Sutton, Davon Coleman, Junior Onyeali and Gannon Conway.
Just a reminder that all commitments are verbal until recruits sign on the dotted line the first Wednesday in February. Below is a highlight video of Smallwood's junior season.
