Three days after Arizona State landed a second running back commit for its 2014 recruiting class, the Sun Devils lost their initial pledge at the position.
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Jason Howell reported via Twitter that 4-star running back recruit Darrel Williams de-committed from Arizona State on Thursday.

Williams' de-commitment comes three days after the Sun Devils received a verbal commitment from 4-star running back Demario Richard out of Palmdale, Calif.
Williams was one of Arizona State's most highly touted recruits for the class of 2014 and one of just five Sun Devil commits that Rivals.com ranked as a 4-star recruit.
Richard is considered a 3-star recruit by Scout.com and a 4-star recruit by Rivals whereas Williams is a 4-star recruit according to both recruiting services. Rivals.com ranked Williams as the 11th best running back in the country and the 144th top recruit in the nation for the Class of 2014.
Rivals.com lists a number of SEC offers for Williams including LSU, Georgia, Florida, and Missouri. Williams has also received offers from schools around the country such as Virginia Tech, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
At the time this article was published, it is uncertain whether Williams will still reconsider Arizona State or if his de-commitment is permanent.
